Free Classes

The Construction Academy offers free classes for high school students and adults. Students are taught basic skills on the trade of their choice. Those that excel in the training are eligible for support in finding a position with an Alaska company.

The Mat Su Construction Academy was created in response to the shortage of construction workers in Alaska. It is a partnership with Associated General contractors of Alaska, Alaska Works Partnership, Alaska Development, Alaska State Home Builders Association, and the Mat Su Borough School District.
